Is this some kind of scam?

So I was watching tv the other day and saw a commercial (I know, live tv, ew) for Charter's new internet. They say it is faster than the old one, faster than their competitor's, etc. Why is it that since that commercial aired I have noticed that my internet is HELLA slower than it used to be? Is this some kind of marketing ploy? Do you want me to upgrade my internet connection? Am I supposed to think "Gee, I would really like my internet to be faster! I should call and pay the cable company MORE money!"

Because I am not going to. I hate Charter. Their tv channel guide looks like a menu from Nintendo. The original one. No fancy 64 stuff for me! I can't look up programs. And the sound gets all wiggy when I use the DVR-- mouths are not synchronized with the sound. Then the sound cuts out. And then it works fine. Lovely huh? I acutally hope the sound cuts out when I watch stuff. Just so it resets itself.

I really miss having Time Warner. Even despite the bitch working in the store that I walked out on. At least they had a good-looking menu.
